How to appeal a Claude ban: success rate, steps and cases
Short answer: The only official route is to sign in to the banned account and submit the form at claude.ai/restricted. According to Anthropic's Transparency Hub (updated 2026-07-23), Anthropic banned 11.4 million accounts in January–June 2026, received 398k appeals and overturned 42k: roughly 1 in 10 appeals (about 10.6%). For July–December 2025 the figures were 1.45M bans, 52k appeals and 1.7k overturns (about 3.3%).

Appeal steps
- Identify the ban category. Anthropic lists three: repeated Usage Policy violations, account creation from an unsupported region, and Terms of Service violations (see ban reasons).
- Sign in and open claude.ai/restricted, then fill in the form honestly.
- Export your data if you need it. This is still possible after a ban.
- Wait for the email reply. Responses are currently slower than usual.
- Don't create new accounts. We recommend staying compliant while you wait; evading a ban can get more accounts banned.

My Claude account was suspended out of nowhere. I appealed — rejected with a copy-paste "Usage Policy violation," zero specifics on what I actually did. No evidence, no transparency, no recourse. @AnthropicAI, arbitrary bans with no due process are not "Trust & Safety."BYE!
